Ritu from But I Smile Anyway invited me to participate in this challenge.
Five Photos, Five Stories. Like most challenges, it isn’t without rules, or better said, a loose set of guidelines:
- Post a photo each day for five consecutive days
- Attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or simply a short paragraph – it’s entirely up to you.
- At the end of each day, nominate one other blogger to take part
For my Day Four nomination, I’m going to nominate ellesuperstar from Full Circle
Day Four: Upping the Ante on Halloween Costumes
For little Blondie’s second Halloween, I sewed his costume. He was Max from “Where the Wild Things Are”. He roared his terrible roar. Since he was little, he didn’t solicit my mad costume making skills.
For the previous 3 Halloweens, we’ve ratcheted things up a few notches.
At 4 years old, he was a robot
At 5 he had to be R2D2
And finally, my greatest challenge…Sonic the Hedgehog.
Sonic is the product of an Old Navy sweatsuit, foam, felt and a lot of time with a needle and thread. Blondie felt super fast that day.
We start planning for next year soon, just to give me a few months to wrap my head around it. We are shooting for Minecraft Steve, but the catch is Blondie wants diamond armor. Hmmmmm….
Okay, that R2D2 costume is awesome!

I like the challenge! What will I do when he doesn’t want me to do this anymore?

I made costumes over a period of more than a dozen years for my children. It brought the characters forward! The Superman briefs over leggings pushed the limits for my son’s dad. Enjoy while you’re the hero in his life!
